Thought is the predecessor of action; conscience is the predecessor of thought. As an ecologically conscious company, Royal Holiday thought of ways of preserving the environment and will take action by publishing its magazine "Royal Holiday News" electronically. This means that the former quarterly magazine will be paperless from now on.
Paper and paperboard products constitute the largest portion of our waste stream, so reducing our paper use and recycling paper materials has a lot of potential to significantly reduce the waste flowing into landfills and save trees at the same time. If you think that digitalizing a magazine makes it more cumbersome, less flexible and mobile, think again: the advent of hand held devices has made reading blogs, news and other on line content even more portable. You can now carry the most recent issue of Royal Holiday News (and all the earlier ones) every where you go!
Another benefit of digitalizing a magazine is that you do not have to burn any fuel to distribute it, therefore favoring the environment and helping us get over our oil addiction.
Plus, the digital format allows the information to reach the potential reader at, quite literally, the speed of light and takes the "news update" concept to a new and exciting level. The digital format allows for an almost endless stream of information to come and go. The content of an issue becomes potentially limitless and the interaction between the publisher and the reader increases. This is why the digital version of Royal Holiday News will be published monthly instead of quarterly.
If we want to save our planet and preserve the environment, we have to change our mentality and our behavior. This is why at Royal Holiday News we declare Green to be the new mature.
