Every week, dozens of testimonials were posted on Royal Holiday's web page: some told tall tales about extraordinary experiences, others expressed the unfathomable beauty of landscapes, sunsets and architectures, others accounted for the intellectual expansion that takes place when confronted with new cultures and others touched our hearts with their emphasis on the human heart and soul.

All these stories competed for extraordinary prizes in "The Best Vacation" contest. This week, Royal Holiday announced the winners of said competition. The first place went to Gordon and Betsy Gallagher from Ontario, Canada. They told the story of Jason Gallagher, a PE teacher at Hill Crest Elementary in the Gallagher's little town of Owen Sound. Jason is a fit man, as fit as any PE Teacher should be. He decided to participate in the Ironman competition to take place in Lake Placid, NY. during the summer.

To complete the Ironman race, competitors must swim 2.4 miles, then ride a bicycle for another 112 miles and, finally, run a 24 mile long marathon. This is the kind of race that tests the human limits both physically and mentally. Being supported by friends and family might make the difference between completing or abandoning the race. Thanks to Royal Holiday, the Gallaghers could reserve a room at the Lake Placid Lodges. They stood by and cheered Jason to the finish line. Jason received the title: Ironman and the Gallaghers enjoyed the beautifull town of Lake Placid, NY. with a satisfied, placid grin on their faces.

The second place in The Best Vacation contest went to Barbara Tornabene, from New York and the third place went to Gabriela del Callejo from Mexico City.

Those Royal Holiday members surveyed agreed that the benefits offered by the membership are excellent; they said they were very happy with the savings on future vacations, the large variety of destinations, the quality of the resorts and the freedom and flexibility offered by the Holiday Credits system.

The Reservation Process received very high grades as well: Our reservation agents were rendered efficient, serviceable, amicable and savvy. The survey showed that some members think the information provided by our agents on some resorts could be more detailed; as a result of this opinion, Royal Holiday is working on an intensive training course that will fix this tiny flaw.

A vast number of members expressed to be highly satisfied with the wide variety of holiday destinations that Royal Holiday has to offer; they also expressed some concern about the availability of rooms in destinations such as Paris, London, Madrid and New York, specially during the High Season. Royal Holiday is currently working on increasing the number of rooms at their disposal on these and other destinations.

Through the survey, Royal Holiday members suggested that the News bulletin and the E-News electronic bulletin could be improved upon, specially when it comes to informing the members about the remodeling of certain hotels. Royal Holiday took heed and the next editions of these two publications will contain more detailed information on the subject.

Through the survey, Royal Holiday learnt that the number of its members that are using the internet is increasing by the day. Therefore they are working on improving Royal Holiday's web page. Royal Holiday Internet surfers will find it easier to make payments, make reservations and check their account status on line.

Nearly 80% of the surveyed members have stayed, at least once, in one of Royal Holiday's Park Royal resorts; 90% of those have been satisfied with the experience. 94% of those who have experienced the All Inclusive system said they were happy with the experience and most have or would repeat it.
